holy crap i've been a bad blogger . . . but i have a hell of an update!

ok wow - i haven't blogged since the 80's or something - - or so it feels like! sorry for the lack of communication and updates. although, if you are on my facebook friend's list - - you have probably seen my rediculous updates (such as going to parties w/ Ryan Seacrest, meeting JC from Nsync at my club night, running into Bret from Flight Of The Conchords again @ the secret BECK show, going to the KATY PERRY carnival @ capitol records for her release party, recording w/ Jeffree Star & Danger Radio, seeing COLDPLAY do a long practice and set @ Jimmy Kimmel Live, you get the picture . . . )

i've been having a blast and soooooo busy lately. it seems too smooth actually - - i'm waiting for some shit to hit the fan. i'm not used to everything going my way without a huge fight. haha. if you worked 6 yrs @ KROQ, and 4 yrs @ Capitol Records to date you would probably feel the same. it's been a constant struggle to get people to really pay attention, and now, i believe everyone is really listening. If not now, maybe soon enough you can be just watching . . . stay tuned! ;)

SO work is going really well - - i most recently came across this cute video of DUKES OF DAVILLE - check it out - - Matt Mahaffey (my favorite producer - and the reason I found out about the Dukes) tells the same story I do, about how I played him Gnarls Barkley 'Crazy' and he responds with playing me DUKES OF DAVILLE 'Steady'! the rest is history!
Watch it here:

DUKES OF DAVILLE short video

I am so excited about this record - - Dukes Of Daville are going to be huge! It's so good, that I can't believe I'm even involved. I used to get frustrated about not being able to sign bands, being A&R for the past 4 years at a major record label - - but not anymore! it's about quality, not quantity.

Past HELL YA! bands (that i've either booked or blogged about all the time) that are now blowing the F-up include:

METRO STATION, SAM SPARRO, ERIC HUTCHINSON, KATE NASH, THE TING TINGS, yada yada .....

you can still download both podcasts from my mac webpage by clicking here: http://web.mac.com/heatherpeggs

Oh and if you haven't downloaded the new GIRL TALK album yet, what are you waiting for?

'so you're sayin' there's a chance?' omgomgomgthat'sallineedtoknow. love, heather

wowowwowowow. talk about changes in the biz!

oh yeah. it's time.
looks like dreams could be coming true all over again - - either way - - i'm ready for whatever is coming my way. armed with HITS. hahahaha
I have my 'Hire Me, Don't Fire Me' mix ready to go! Finally! I'm sooooooooo much more excited today than I was yesterday!
Isn't it crazy how much your job can affect your overall attitude in life? Well, if you are me, work is life. My job is everything to me. I live with my cat, and we both don't know how to cook. hahaha
But it looks like me and Snickers are going to be fine. Thanks to everyone in the biz who has been talking me up - - and if you aren't == why the hell not?!?!?!?! hahahahaha
xoxoxoxo

until I can open up my big mouth and say everything i want without getting in trouble . . . i'll leave you with a few amazing videos from some of my most talked about artists on this very blog:
ENJOY!

my favorite song of 06 has to be MIKA 'Love Today'. I've actually had it since beginning of 05, and I remember blowing my current HELL YA! staffer EVAN VOLK with this track as a demo. I remember the first time I heard the demos, and when he showcased for Capitol Records - - I was instantly his #1 fan. I remember seeing Evan's face the first time I played this track for him - - priceless. I knew he would be working for me - - as we both bonded over MIKA! How can you not!?!!? Why is Mika not a huge gigantic superstar in the US? He will be soon enough . . .

SAM SPARRO 'Black & Gold' (NEW video!)

Molliemogo, SamSparro, HeatherPeggs = hellya sandwich.

****Wow it seems like just yesterday he was playing Hell Ya! w/ Iglu & Hartly, (it was only November @ the Echo!), and now he's already #2 in the UK! Pretty huge. Can't say i'm at all surprised, as when you got it, you really got it. He's a superduper star - - yep that's right, i said superduper. (i was quoting myself, from my Hell Ya! Podcast!)

and p.s. all peeps that are Coachella Bound next week - - make sure to watch the hottness that is my future ex=boyfriend MARK RONSON (sorry emily! we have to fight on this one!) as Mark has invited SAM SPARRO to join him onstage to sign Daniel M's part in "STOP ME". I hear they are also going to be playing 'Black & Gold'.

and to that I say . . . HELL YA.
It's a great time to be working in the biz. well that is, if you have great taste, balls, and talent to back it up! ;)

WOOOHOOO today kicked ass!! Plus Hell Ya! Hit Of The Day!

this is what i feel like right now (minus the mullet and unicycle)

I had an amazing today today. I can't stop smiling. First off, after 3 years of working at a major record label, as of TODAY, I signed my first band! This is HUGGGE news, especially because it was a band that I SIGNED to my own indie record label! HELL YA! Records!

So that's a double YAYYY. If you haven't listened to Dukes Of Daville already, check it out now!

Dukes Of Daville Myspace

Listen to 'Steady' and hopefully you will be hearing it over and over by this time next year . . .

On top of finally feeling validated at my job by signing my first band to Capitol, I am super excited to see my boyfriend tomorrow - who has been touring for nearly a month. (dating a musician is really HARD!) I'm constantly missing him, but it is true that distance makes the heart grow fonder. I would rather been in a hard situation with him, than an easy situation with somebody else.

I'm going to try to start a new feature on this blog called SONG OF THE DAY. This may or may not happen every day, but only when I hear a song that makes me compelled enought to write about it! So . . . first up is a shocker. Stay with me.
Have you heard the new Linkin Park single called 'Shadow Of The Day'? I heard on KROQ today and fell in love with the song before I realized it was Linkin Park!! HAHA. By the time I figured it out, I was already sold and ready to hear it on repeat. Who is responsible for this gem? Why Rick Rubin of course!! He did it again! How did he turn a band I wrote off years ago, into a band I put on my Hell Ya! mixes and blog?!? Same thing happened when I heard the Dixie Chicks.

Since I can't post the track, I found a youtube link that plays the song over a Linkin Park logo - take a listen here:

Linkin Park 'Shadow of the Day'

Speaking of bands I usually make fun of . . . have you heard the new BRAVERY single? It's called "Believe" and it's really good. They got my 99cents today as well!

**shameless buddy shout out/plug:
Happy B-day Mollie Moore!!
