Now that Heather has gotten me absolutely addicted to 30 ROCK, it was amazing that I managed to peel myself off the couch to go do anything else this last couple of weeks... But I did. And I am sure glad I did.



About a week ago I got the chance to see ADELE at the Hotel Cafe. I found out about this show a day after the tickets went on sale and nearly screamed in my office when I saw that they were already sold out, lucky for me, my friend Ryan had an extra ticket and decided to bring me along.

I have to admit that I had only heard a couple of songs, CHASING PAVEMENTS (her single) being the only one I could actually pick from a line up, and it looked like most of the crowd was in the same bost (minus that one girl who was dancing and singing along with every word). She was great. Obviously, I knew she would sound great, but she was also cracking jokes and admitted that she was a bit nervous. She seemed as though she was a normal girl, who lucky for all of us has been blessed with incredible talent and a killer voice.

Adele won a Critic's Choice BRIT award this year and has been playing to sold out crowds in the UK. Our good friend Sam Sparro will be opening for her this May in the UK. Her CD is yet to be released in the US, though I take it that it should be coming soon. She does, however have a single on iTunes of HOMETOWN GLORY, which I recommend downloading since I know you have a dollar worth of change in your seat cushions that you have been considering putting to good use...

Eric Hutchinson is pretty good . . . ;)

I get comfort knowing that I tried 130987695% on this. I even wore the ERIC HUTCHINSON is PRETTY GOOD t-shirt to work during the meeting. Eric was my FIRST showcase for Capitol Records almost 2 1/2 or maybe even 3 years ago. That didn't go as planned, but I kept on keepin on. I will always be Eric Hutchinson's biggest fan. (and NO - i did not get with him if that is what you are thinking! i am just a fan)

so yeah - mark my words - it's eric hutchinson's time NOW. just check out this new song - one that i am DYING to get my hands on. dave? carter? eric? steve basilone - u have a copy? anybody? this song rules!! Go Eric! I hope you become bigger than John mayer and start Dating Jessica Simpson or something. ;)

Last night's show @ Hotel Cafe had the biggest line I'd ever seen at the club. Craaaazyyyyyyypants. It was even more packed than when I saw SIA there back in 06.

If somebody dropped a bomb on the hotel cafe last night, half of the music business would be wiped out.
Here's my shoutouts: the A&R peeps I saw (MM,KK,TC,CA,plusmore, Label Promo Peeps (KP thanks for the drinks!), Radio PD's (what's up MS!), lawyers (JL always at the best shows), booking agents (big shout out to jon moore @ apa - hopeudigthemix!), managers (carter & dave you rule), MARKO (booker of hotel cafe), and of course my highschool buddy STEVE BASILONE (412!) who is responsible for telling me about Eric in the first place. that's all - congrats eric!!!! :)

Castledoor just get better and better each time I see them. Finally other peole are taking notice too! (they get played on Indie 1031, Kcrw, Blogs etc . . .) They have come along way since they opened HELL YA! Night w/ Los Abandoned last year. I hope to have them back to HEADLINE HELL YA night soon - but they keep getting booked for big shows, looks like I will have to wait. :)

Tonight they start a Thursday night residency @ the SILVERLAKE LOUNGE. They go on at Midnight. (i know it's late, but I promise you - it's WORTH IT!)

Expect big things. I love this band so much. Just wait till you hear their new songs! (like the title track to the upcoming ep - "shout to the mountains" sooooooooooo amaaaaazzzziiinnnnnngggg)

St. Vincent tonight @ Hotel Cafe! 8pm!

St. Vincent is Annie Clark. She is from Dallas, Tx. I first heard her song from Sirius Blog Radio. Gorilla Vs. Bear has good taste. :)

Annie Clark has played guitar for the Polyphonic Spree. She is so beautiful and very talented. I got to see her perform in Pittsburgh PA and was BLOWN AWAY. She is a star.

She is playing with Mike Garson (david bowie's piano player!)
